No 1: The Jacko child abuse scandal

In August 1993 news broke of a police investigation into claims that Michael Jackson had sexually abused 13-year-old Jordan Chandler.

At the time it was unthinkable that the 20th century's biggest star could have committed such a crime - and eventually, after a troubled few months, Michael settled out of court with the Chandlers for a multimillion-dollar payment.

But the allegations resurfaced in 2002 when MJ admitted in a TV interview that he'd shared his bedroom with young 'friends'.

He was charged with seven counts of child molestation and although ultimately acquitted, he slid into painkiller addiction and ill health, culminating in his death in 2009.
