In 1999 Cheryl Tweedy leaves school with few qualifications. ‘I was awful at school,’ she says. ‘My headmaster said, “It’ll be interesting to see what you do in your life, Miss Tweedy”.’

Cheryl is suspended twice during her time there, once for fighting with another pupil and again for swearing on a bus. ‘I once got into a fight with a guy. He spat at me so I slapped him and we both got suspended,’ she confesses.
