Born in Toronto on 23 December 1971 - the son of a computer operator - Corey Haim chose an acting career after his mum Judy sent him to drama lessons to help him overcome his shyness.
Corey's film debut is in 1984 in Firstborn, in which he plays a young boy caught up in a family war.
