Born in Blackburn, West Lothian, former trainee chef Susan Boyle appears on Britain’s Got Talent singing I Dreamed A Dream from the musical Les Misérables.
She recalls applying for the show on 21 January, full of hope and longing to have a professional career like her idol Elaine Paige.
