Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri want to start a family

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri have revealed they're ready to start a family.

The couple - who have been dating for 4 years - plan to try for a baby once Janet finishes touring this summer.

‘Janet would be a great mum,' Jermaine tells People. 'She was around so many brothers and sisters in her life, so she’s got to know what that is [like]. And her mum is a great mother.’

But when Janet, 41, was asked about the baby plans on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show last week, she was shocked to hear her partner had spilled the beans.

‘When did he say that?’ she asked in surprise.

In April, Janet rubbished reports she is engaged to Jermaine, saying she is 'allergic' to weddings.

Jermaine, 35, has a daughter Shaniah from a previous relationship.
