George Sampson: My dad hasn't bothered with me

Britain’s Got Talent winner says they've had little contact

George Sampson will appear at the Royal Variety Performance

George Sampson says he does not want a reunion with his estranged father.

His mum Lesley, 39, and Brian Sampson, 40, split when the Britain’s Got Talent winner was just 9.

George, now 14, decided to stay with his mum in Warrington and has had little contact with his dad since.

‘He’s had his chance,’ he tells The Sun. ‘I gave him tickets to all of my competitions and he’s not bothered, so why should I bother with him?’

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that mentor Simon Cowell, 48, is forking out over £15,000 on George’s security to protect him on the show’s tour.

‘We are taking whatever measures necessary with security to ensure George is safe,’ says a spokesman for Simon’s company SyCo Music.
