Comedian didn't believe in sex before marriage
Sunday, 26 October 2008
Jimmy Carr has revealed he was a late bloomer when it came to sex.
The 36-year-old comedian says his religious beliefs stopped him from getting intimate in relationships.
'I was a Christian,' Jimmy says. 'I didn't want to have sex before marriage.
'I was a bit uptight and not very self-confident. I was a virgin until I was 26.'
But Jimmy's attitude to sex changed when he lost his faith.
'I don't think of it as a big deal. It wasn't so clear cut that as my religious beliefs changed I therefore felt able to have sex; it all just happened around the same time,' he tells Observer Woman.
'I don't think I missed out on an awful lot.'
