Child actress had to wade through waste in family's shanty

Slumdog Millionaire child star Rubina Ali played young Latika in the Oscar-winning film

Slumdog Millionaire child star Rubina Ali had to leave her home after it was flooded yesterday.

The Garib Nagar slum in Mumbai overflowed with waste when council workers accidentally cracked sewage pipes.  

‘This is just typical for my family right now,’ Rubina, 9, tells Metro.

Her dad Rafiq Qureshi, 36, was cleared last week of allegedly trying to sell her for £200,000.
