Wendy Richard, who is terminally ill with cancer, will marry John Burns

Wendy Richard has revealed that she is dying of cancer.

To enjoy whatever time she has left and celebrate life, she plans to marry long term boyfriend John Burns.

The former EastEnders actress - who played Pauline Fowler for over 20 years - will tie the knot at the Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair this week.

She posted notice of their wedding at Westminster Register Office last month.

‘They are soulmates and this is the seal on their relationship,’ an insider tells the News Of The World.

Wendy, 65 - who has been married three times before - has been living with John, who is 20 years her junior, for over 10 years.

Guests invited to the wedding include co-stars Todd Carty, James Alexandrou and Natalie Cassidy, who played her kids in the BBC1 soap, which she left in 2006.

Wendy battled breast cancer twice but the disease has now returned.

'I have a cancerous growth on my right kidney and the cancer has spread to my bones,' she tells the Sunday Express. 'It's more aggressive this time, unfortunately, and has spread to the top of my spine and left ribs.'

As well as arranging her wedding, Wendy has also organised her funeral and written a will.
