Rebecca Loos loves the Caveman diet
David Beckham's ex-PA lost her Celebrity Love Island weight
'I've always been body confident,' admits Rebecca, 'so I jumped at the chance to star on Celebrity Love Island [in May 2005]. Some of the girls felt self-conscious, but I loved it. I'd have gone topless if the producers had let me!
'But during the show we found ourselves lounging around and drinking all the free booze. Every day we woke up hungover then spent all day sunbathing. Some days I wanted to go for a run, but it was too hot. I usually love exercising, so it was a shock.
Running gave me such a buzz
'Having grown up in Spain on a healthy Mediterranean diet, I wasn't used to it and I put on weight. A week after leaving Fiji I saw a picture of myself in a bikini in a magazine. I thought: "Oh no!" My stomach was bloated and I looked awful. I tried hard to forget what I'd seen – and vowed to get back in shape.
'I started jogging for 20 minutes three times a week and took my pug dog Bubu for long walks. Then I decided to sign up for the London Marathon in 2006. Running gave me such a buzz and it blasted away the fat.
The Caveman diet isn't faddy
'I also started following the Caveman diet. It's not faddy – it lets you eat lots of simple, unprocessed food. I have lots of tuna steaks, seafood, vegetables and nuts.
'In the lead up to the race I dropped a dress size and my energy levels soared. I did occasionally cheat, though – every now and then I'd treat myself to a night in front of Lost with a bowl of ice cream!'
