Biography

A regular on the Essex and London nightclub circuit, WAG and lingerie model Danielle Lloyd has hit the headlines more often than not for all the wrong reasons.

Raised in Liverpool, Danielle has claimed she was bullied at school – an experience she would later blame for a controversial TV incident a decade later. She began modelling at 16 but suffered another early trauma, a brutal beating by her then-boyfriend.

She was crowned Miss England in July 2004 and competed at Miss World in the same year, but her triumph in being crowned Miss Great Britain 2006 was short-lived. Danielle was stripped off her title after posing for nude pictures for the December 2006 issue of Playboy. It was also alleged that she’d been having an affair with one of the judges, her then-footballer boyfriend, Teddy Sherringham, although she insisted the relationship had begun after the event.

Things went from bad to worse for Danielle at the beginning of 2007 during her ill-fated appearance on Celebrity Big Brother. Along with Jade Goody and Jo O’Meara, Danielle was accused of bullying and racially abusing Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. A global media storm reportedly prompted Teddy to end their relationship, while Danielle was hit by the loss of several lucrative modelling contracts.

The winner of UK Best Breasts 2006 has attempted to revive her popularity through endorsements and support for charity campaigns. But it is her love life – namely links to a string of footballers including Jermain Defoe and Gerard Piqué – that continues to keep her in the tabloids.
