Wayne Rooney has been quizzed by cops after he allegedly spat at a photographer.
The incident is said to have happened on Tuesday when the footballer left a London restaurant with wife Coleen McLoughlin, 22, at 10.20pm.
The 22-year-old was interviewed under caution and spoke to police at a neutral venue after a third party made a complaint.
The Crown Prosecution Service will decide if any charges will be dished out when they read the police report.
‘We can confirm that police have received a third party allegation that a photographer was spat at by an individual in Hanway Street, W1, on Tuesday evening,’ says a Met Police spokesman.
‘A 22-year-old man was interviewed under caution. He was not arrested and did not attend a police station. The inquiries continue.’
In law, spitting at someone is an offence of common assault.
‘Wayne was interviewed by police in connection with an alleged minor offence,’ his rep tells The Sun.
‘Wayne was happy to co-operate fully.’
