The High School Musical star wants to be back on feet by end of month
Thursday, 17 January 2008
Zac Efron has until 27 January to recover from emergency surgery because he is due on stage at the 14th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in LA.
The High School Musical star was taken to hospital on Tuesday to have an appendectomy.
Organisers are hoping that Zac, 20, will be fit enough to present an award at the prestigious event which is unaffected by the Writers Guild Of America strike.
The teen heartthrob is currently filming comedy Seventeen with former Friends star Matthew Perry.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year is scheduled to be released in cinemas this October.
