Patrick Swayze's TV show to be cancelled?

The Beast may be dropped by network A&E

Patrick Swayze plays a rogue FBI cop in the drama

Patrick Swayze’s TV series The Beast is said to be facing the axe after just 13 episodes.

US reports claim network A&E will not to re-commission the police drama for another season.

But a spokesman tells industry paper Daily Variety an official decision is yet to be made. 

Patrick, 56, was due to promote The Beast at the Television Critics Association in January but was hospitalised with pneumonia.

He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2008.

The last episode of The Beast aired on 23 April.
