Simon Cowell could bring back Blind Date — 5 years after the show was axed.

The pop guru, 48, is said to have bought a share in the rights to the dating programme.

And ITV1 boss Peter Fincham is rumoured to be keen to give it the go-ahead.

‘Blind Date is an incredible show,’ a source tells The Sun.

‘We’ve got a lot of new ideas — this could be the biggest show of next year.

‘It would have all the elements of Blind Date plus the best bits of Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor.

'Blind Date is one of the most iconic ITV shows of all time. It’s early days, but it’s looking very hopeful.’

Former host Cilla Black, 65, is not expected to return.
