Contestants on the ITV show fall in love on their date to Fernando's Island

Take Me Out host Paddy McGuinness has an invite to the show's first wedding

A couple who met on ITV show Take Me Out are set to get hitched - and presenter Paddy McGuinness has already got his invite to the wedding.

Dan Nash and Dawn Edwards, both 27, became an item after he chose to take her on a date to the programme's holiday destination Fernando's Island last year.

'I'm over the moon. I only went on the show for a bit of a laugh but I ended up meeting someone and falling in love,' says Dan.

'We chatted easily once the cameras were off and we went for a meal.

'I knew I just had to kiss her. It was amazing and it was obvious we were desperate to see each other again once we got back.

'For me the spark was instant.'

Dan and Dawn aren't the first lovebirds to find each other on a dating programme - back in 1991, south Londoners Alex and Sue Tatham tied the knot after he picked her on Blind Date three years earlier.

The couple recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary.

'I grew up watching Blind Date and it's a 21st century version of that, so when I saw they were auditioning for girls I thought I'd give it a go,' Dawn tells People.

'I liked some of the other guys but thankfully they didn't pick me because none was as nice as Dan.

'I really liked the look of him.'
