Amanda Holden is recovering after she reportedly collapsed and started bleeding heavily following the birth of new baby daughter Hollie Rose on Monday.
The Britain's Got Talent judge is believed to have lost several pints of blood and had to undergo several transfusions to keep her alive while little Hollie was put on a respirator because she struggled to breathe.
'For a while both were fighting for life,' a source tells The Sun.
'Thankfully Hollie is now out of the woods and Amanda is recovering too.'
Amanda's husband Chris Hughes, 38, was by her side as she spent 3 days in intensive care at a West London hospital.
The actress was flooded with Tweets when reports of her baby's arrival surfaced yesterday, with Phillip Schofield among the first to wish her well.
'Many many congratulations to @Amanda_Holden & Chris on the birth of baby Hollie. And wishing Amanda a speedy recovery. Lots of love darlin',' Tweeted Phillip, 49.
The 40-year-old's spokesman confirms: 'Amanda has been in a critical condition for the past 3 days.
'She is now stable and we expect her to make a full recovery very soon.
'Until Amanda is in a position to indicate what she wants to say, there's no more information I can give.'
Amanda and her husband Chris Hughes, 38, are also parents to 6-year-old Lexi.
