Celebrity Big Brother star Denise Welch: I'm going to try not to drink too much

Denise Welch knew before she entered the Celebrity Big Brother house that she'd find it hard to cope with the intense environment.

The Loose Women star feared she'd end up like 2001 housemate Vanessa Feltz, 49, who had a meltdown on the show.

'It's a worry with me because of my battle with mental illness,' Denise, 53, admitted before the show kicked off.

'I'm really apprehensive about it. Vanessa was only in the house for 3 days.'

Denise, who has a history of depression, vowed to quit alcohol 5 years ago - but 2 years later she decided to 'step off' the wagon.

The mum-of-two has been drinking in the CBB house and her wild ways - including going topless in the Jacuzzi and exposing Karissa Shannon's bottom - has caused controversy amongst her housemates.

'I'm going to try and not drink too much,' Denise vowed.

'As a mum I've got to remember that I've got more responsibility than the young kids who aren't attached, because I have 2 kids who are watching.'
