Lucy-Jo Hudson: It's hard being away from Alan Halsall and going back to an empty house

Lucy-Jo hates being apart from her husband when she's filming Wild At Heart in South Africa

Former Coronation Street actress Lucy-Jo Hudson is still loved-up with husband Alan Halsall after 3 years of marriage.

Lucy-Jo, 28, says she struggles without her 29-year-old hubby - who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the soap - during the 6 month stints she spends filming TV series Wild At Heart in South Africa.

'It's hard being away from Al,' says Lucy-Jo.

'We film long days so it's only when I go back to an empty house that I really miss him and wish he was with me.

'But I know he's busy working too and it's only for a few months.'

The couple - who met when Lucy-Jo arrived on the cobbles as Katie Harris back in 2002 - have found ways to keep their relationship alive when they spend long periods apart.

'We Skype and are always on the phone,' Lucy-Jo tells the Daily Mirror.

'He comes out for two weeks too so that's great - he plays golf while I work, so everyone's happy!'

'We make it work, and I think you have to make the effort.'
