Little Mix reached No 1 with their debut single Cannonball this weekend - but it looks like that's going to change when the official Christmas chart is announced on Sunday.

Gareth Malone's Military Wives Choir's track Wherever You Are was only released yesterday, but it's already set to become the fastest-selling single of the year.

'Incredible the Military Wives and Gareth Malone have sold 242,000 singles already. Christmas No1 guaranteed. I think that's brilliant,' Tweets Now's Dan Wootton.

Though it achieved the biggest first-week sales for a single so far this year, Cannonball shifted just 210,000 copies.

X Factor bosses usually release the winner's song to coincide with the festive chart but this year they did it a week early - and it seems Simon Cowell is happy about the outcome.
