Doctor Who star Matt Smith has broken up with Daisy Lowe after 18 months together - supposedly because he didn't want to settle down.

But the actor, 22, has always been besotted with the Playboy cover girl.

'He's so in love with Daisy,' revealed Now's insider in September.

'He'd marry her tomorrow if she agreed.

'She's his ideal woman - and he can't believe his luck that they're together.'

Daisy, 22, has been living with Matt, 29, but is adamant that she's too young for kids.

Mum Pearl had Daisy as a teenager after a fling with Gavin Rossdale, who's now married to Gwen Stefani - and Daisy knows how hard that was for her.

But Matt, who's been in Wales filming the Doctor Who Christmas special, met Daisy in April 2010 and was entranced. They split in May but got back together in July.

'Whenever engagement and marriage was mentioned he was uncomfortable,' a source claims in The Sun.

'He's still a young man and the thought of being tied down was a lot to digest.'

A spokesman for both Daisy Lowe and Matt Smith refused to comment.
