Ashley Cole claimed Maria Fowler wasn't his type

He's one of Britain's biggest love rats, but that hasn't stopped girls throwing themselves at Cheryl Cole's ex-hubby Ashley Cole.


Yet none have been so hilarious in their pursuit as 25-year-old TOWIE star Maria Fowler.

Having already scored with Kirk Norcross' dad Mick Norcross, the Essex girl has cast her net wider.

Last week, she saw her chance with party boy Ashley, 30, at a celebrity bash.

But the Chelsea footballer showed Maria the red card.

Ashley's friend tells us: ‘It was bordering on embarrassing. 'He was having a night with the boys when Maria locked on her target.

'She was buzzing around, trying to speak to him and being really flirty.

'It was really annoying. He was trying to chill and had no idea who she was.

'As we tried to explain, he said: "Isn't she that prostitute?"

'We put him straight that all the stories were wild rumours and completely untrue.

'But it's safe to say Maria wasn't his type.'

Ouch.

Maria's spokesman told Now: ‘She won't be too upset that Ashley spurned her.'
