Kate Silverton has given birth to the 'miracle' baby she and husband Mike Heron thought they'd never be able to have.
The BBC News presenter, who lost an ovary at 29, had tried IVF, acupuncture and reflexology before suddenly conceiving naturally at 40.
Daughter Clemency Florence Rose arrived on Saturday 5 November weighing 8lb 9oz.
'I became a mummy yesterday. Mike and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter Clemency Florence Rose,' Kate, 41, has announced on Twitter.
'She is utterly divine. She was born yesterday at 14.40 weighing 8lb 9 oz after a natural delivery - am simply ecstatic!
'Huge thanks to the NHS staff at Queen Charlotte's hospital especially leading midwife Jenny Smith and also Dr Gowri Motha who helped ensure I had a natural (and as gentle!) a birth as possible.'
Kate knows exactly when she conceived Clemency.
'Mike and I had dinner with Prince Charles at a Prince's Trust event,' she recalls.
'We were having a few days off, pottering around our new home and were feeling very chilled out.
'Maybe my mind and body knew I was ready for motherhood. I'd just got married, moved into a home and instead of dashing off to Afghanistan, which I'd done the last time I tried IVF, I was giving off vibes of safety and security.'
