Edwina Currie voted off Strictly Come Dancing

Edwina Currie failed to impress viewers with her dance moves

Edwina Currie has become the first celebrity to be axed from Strictly Come Dancing 2011.

The former MP and her partner Vincent Simone received the fewest votes from the public.

'I feel sorry for Vincent because he has worked very hard,' said Edwina, 64.

'He's been a terrific teacher, he really, really has. Anything that we did wrong is entirely my fault.'

Edwina was joined in the bottom 2 by boxer Audley Harrison.

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday at 6.25pm on BBC1.
