Ryan Thomas: I'm serious about dating Chris Fountain's 'sister-in-law'

Coronation Street hottie Ryan Thomas would love to date Sophie Derrick.

The student is the sister of co-star Chris Fountain's girlfriend Jessica.

A pal close to Ryan, 27, tells us: ‘Jessica spotted that Ryan had a soft spot for Sophie last month and they've been having fun winding him up ever since.

'It's funny because Ryan's used to getting his own way, with girls falling at his feet, but Sophie's different.'

Ryan even made his feelings known by publicly flirting with her on Twitter.

On 11 July he Tweeted Sophie: ‘I'm actually being serious - cinema, then?' and in another message he says: ‘Think me and @MissSDerrick are getting very clicky.

'Not sure @Jessica_Derrick will be too happy when she stays at mine LOL x. '

Ryan hasn't had a long-term relationship since his six-year romance with Waterloo Road actress  Tina O'Brien, 28.

They split two years ago after a series of rows 
- Tina was said to have felt he hadn't grown up since Scarlett's birth.

She's now dating fitness trainer Adam Crofts following relationships with DJ Mike Toolan and cameraman Nick Cox last year.

With his ex having moved on, Ryan's clearly keen to do the same.

‘Sophie's very beautiful but also very feisty,' says our insider.

‘She loves winding him up and going out with Jessica and having a good time.

'Who knows what will happen next and whether Ryan can actually handle 
her.'
