Paula Abdul: Thank you for my flowers, Cheryl Cole, I love you

Despite rumours they didn't get on, Paula Abdul and axed US X Factor judge Cheryl Cole are having a love fest.

Paula has posted a photo of herself online holding a bouquet sent to her by the Geordie star.

'Cheryl Cole I LOVVVVVVVVE MY FLOWERS!' Paula, 48, wrote on her Facebook page. 'Thank you for such a beautiful, bright, summery bouquet. I've loved our conversations, & I love you. Looking forward to meeting up soon! xoP.' 

Paula also calls Cheryl 'amazing' and a 'class act'.

The 80s pop star, an old pal of Simon Cowell's was originally blamed for Cheryl's exit from the show, but it seems Paula can't praise Cheryl, 27, enough.

After news broke that she was leaving the judging panel last month, Paula took to Twitter to gush about her new friend.

'Cheryl is amazing. We have forged a wonderful friendship & have been & will continue to stay in touch,' Paula, 48, Tweeted.

'..I'm excited for everyone to see and hear what she is about to do next. xoP.'
