Cher Lloyd plans to make the most of her success and buy her mum and dad a new home.

The mini-rapper's parents Darren, 43, and Dinah Lloyd, 36, have spent the last few days scouring estate agents' windows after their daughter gave them a £250,000 budget to upgrade from their modest semi in Malvern, Worcestershire.

'Cher has always said she would love to buy her mum and dad a house,' says a family friend.

Cher, 17, had a modest upbringing in a council house but since her appearance on The X Factor has been snapped up by Simon Cowell's record label Syco, with artists as big as Will.i.am desperate to work with her.

'A couple of weeks ago she told [her parents] to start looking for a new place,' the friend tells the Mirror.

'Cher's already bought them a new sofa and other bits and bobs.'
