Simon Cowell snaps up Heather Russell

X Factor chief Simon Cowell knows talent when he sees it

Simon Cowell see a fantastic future for 10-year-old YouTube phenomenon Heather Russell.

The music mogul - owner of record label Syco - signed the cute Canadian after watching a video of her singing self-penned tune Every Step Of The Way.

'Simon just loved her,' says a spokesman for Syco.

'He said she was amazingly talented from the first time he saw her.'

Heather's already been tipped as the next Mariah Carey or Alicia Keys - and 16-year-old Justin Bieber had better watch his back, too.

'At 8 years old Heather wrote her first song called Beautiful on the piano,' her dad wrote on his website before Simon snapped her up.

'At 9, Ashton Kutcher Tweeted about her to Demi Moore, Ellen DeGeneres wants her on the show and Grammy winning music producer Rob Fusari has taken her under his wing.
