Chelsea and England footballer Frank Lampard has an enormous amount of respect for girlfriend Christine Bleakley.
Co-presenter of ITV's morning programme Daybreak - a revamp of GMTV - she's battled on cheerily despite widespread criticism and poor viewing figures.
'Christine is very hard-working and we are very similar in our mind-sets, liking to work hard,' says Frank, 32.
'We are our own biggest critics.
'I have got nothing but admiration for the way Christine has kept her head down at her new show.
'She is one of the hardest-working people I know.
'When she gets out of bed at 3am in the morning I have to give her a pat on the back.'
Christine, 32, presents Daybreak alongside good friend Adrian Chiles. It launched in September last year and is gradually growing in popularity.
'Admiration does not sound the right word to use about your girlfriend but I have huge respect for what she does,' Frank tells The Sun.
'To see someone working hard at what they do and getting the benefits is very impressive.
'Certain people can expect things to come to them and have an easy ride in life, but Christine certainly does not.
'She has worked since she was 15 or 16.
'Christine is a lot better at handling [criticism] than I am.
'It is water off a duck's back.'
