Pregnant Kym Marsh in hospital

Kym Marsh is being monitored by medics as he reaches her 27th week of pregnancy

Medics are taking no chances with Kym Marsh's pregnancy and are keeping a close eye on the actress in hospital.

The Coronation Street star has been diagnosed with an incompetent cervix and previously described
her pregnancy as a 'nightmare'.

'Amanda Holden's tragic miscarriage really hit home,' says a source.

'Kym realised she had to take care of herself and her unborn baby.

'It really freaked her out.

'She is doing everything she can to ensure there is a happy outcome for everyone.'

Kym and fiancé Jamie Lomas' son Archie died in
2009, moments after his unexpected arrival at
21 weeks. 

'Kym has been to hospital more or less every week for a scan,' a spokesman for TV group Granada said.

'She is taking all the medical advice and everyone who knows her hopes that as her pregnancy advances everything will be OK.'

Kym, 34, is already mum to David, 15 and
Emily, 13, from a former relationship.
