Simon Cowell's promising the winner of The US X Factor a record-breaking $5m (£3m) recording deal - a prize that could easily go to a 12-year-old.
The music mogul has lowered the age limit for contestants to 12 and hopes the unbeatable prize will put his new show ahead of any other reality contest.
'I've never believed there should be a cut-off age for talent and we are going to put our money where our mouths are with the $5m contract,' says Simon, 51.
'I want it to be bigger and better than anything you've seen before.
'I want it to be more extreme, more fun, more exciting.'
Fox TV bosses splashed out £2m for a 30-second advert for the show featuring Simon's shattered head being pieced together, ending with the slogan: He's Back.
The ad was shown during Sunday night's Super Bowl and was watched by 100m.
'You never know what Simon has up his sleeve,' Fox TV executive Mike Darnell tells the Daily Star.
'The country should expect the unexpected.'
