Brendan Cole: I won't let Strictly ruin my marriage!

Brendan Cole won't let Strictly Come Dancing damage any more relationships.

The 34-year-old dancer's engagement to fellow Strictly co-star Camilla Dallerup fell apart after he partnered with Natasha Kaplinsky in the first series of the show.

Brendan and Natasha, who went on to win the series, had great chemistry - sparking media rumours about a love affair.

'I'm not sure I was ready for Strictly back in 2004. It came along and blew me away a little bit,' admits Brendan.

''The things that are important to me now are the complete opposite of what was important back then.'

The New Zealander married model Zoe Hobbs, 29, in July 2010 and he intends to make sure their love lasts.

'Strictly is hard on any relationship,' he tells Weekend. 'You're on call all the time and when the phone goes late at night it can be quite intrusive, but Zoe understands how intense it can be.

‘One thing I learned is to involve my other half in everything.

'I try to make sure I don't do anything that would embarrass Zoe. She's my future.

'And as for the Strictly bubble, I now know that's not reality - not at all.'
