Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd wants DNA tests on 'new son'

Sammy Milewski is convinced she's just given birth to Jack P Shepherd's son

Promotions girl Sammy Milewski's - who claims she bedded Coronation Street actor Jack P Shepherd in April last year - gave birth to a son on Friday.

Jack, who has asked for proof that he is the father of the newborn, is already dad to Nyla, 20 months, with long-term girlfriend Lauren Shippey.

'It is sad that Jack wasn't there to share in the joy of his birth,' says a source.

'Sammy will have tests if that is what Jack wants but she knows who the father of her baby is.

'She just hopes that Jack acknowledges his own son.

'It isn't the baby's fault they had a one-night stand.'

Lauren forgave the 22-year-old - who plays David Platt in the soap - for his misbehaviour after he grovelled to her and to Corrie bosses.

'I
would like to apologise to my family, for all the hurt and pain I have
caused them, to ITV Granada for letting them down, and especially to Lauren and Nyla, who are the most important people in my life,' the actor said in a statement.

'I
now need to concentrate on what is really important, my family and my
career, as I have abused my position as an employee, partner and father,
and for that I am deeply sorry.'

Jack is said to have told his mates he is happy to accept his responsibilities but wants proof first.

'If a DNA proves the baby is his he will do the right thing financially,' an insider tells the News Of The World, 'but he has a family with Lauren and doesn't want to destroy that.'
