Katherine Kelly to quit Coronation Street in 2011?

Corrie actress Katherine Kelly said to be keen to try new roles

Katherine Kelly is reportedly planning to quit Coronation Street next year.

The actress' contract runs out at the end of 2011 and she's thought to have told bosses that she won't renew it. 

Katherine - who has played Becky McDonald in Corrie since 2006 - plans to pursue new parts.  

'It came as a huge blow to everyone but, after nearly 5 years playing Becky, they understood her decision,' says a source. 

'She wants to go off and try other roles.'  

But a show spokesman insists Katherine, 31, is still part of Corrie's future plans. 

'Katherine Kelly is committed to Coronation Street to the end of 2011,' he tells the Daily Star Sunday.

'It would be premature to discuss the departure of any actor when they still have almost 12 months to go on their contract.'
