X Factor bosses deny results leaked on Twitter before Aiden Grimshaw's elimination

The X Factor has been hit by allegations that the results of the viewer vote were leaked online ahead of the end of last night's show.

Just moments after losing the sing-off with Katie Waissel, Aiden Grimshaw claimed to host Dermot O'Leary that he wasn't too surprised at being eliminated because he'd already been warned by pals. 

'My friend texted me about half an hour before and said there was a leak on Twitter and I was in the bottom three, so I was kind of expecting it,' said Aiden, 18. 

Dermot, 37, immediately played down the claims by saying: 'That is uncorroborated.'

X Factor bosses also insist there was no way the information could have been available online.

‘People make lots of unfounded predictions on the internet about the order of the contestants based on various popularity polls,' a spokesman tells the Daily Mail.

'We do not believe there is a leak.'
