Strictly's Tina O'Brien makes her move

The former Corrie star foxtrots her way back into the arms of ex Ryan Thomas

Tina O'Brien is now single

Having ended her romance with cameraman Nick Cox, Tina O'Brien probably welcomed the distraction of strutting her stuff on Strictly Come Dancing.

But now she's no longer doing the cha-cha-cha and as she struggles to deal with single life, the 27-year-old actress is seeking comfort in the arms of her ex-partner, Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas.

‘They've been talking every single day since she ended it with Nick and he's really been a tower of strength for her,' a friend of the star tells Now.

‘With the amount of support he's given her, it's obvious he still really cares about her a lot. Even she's been surprised by how much Ryan's been there for her.'

After their messy break-up, it makes a nice change to hear that the pair are closer than ever.

Speaking about the split, Tina claimed that Ryan, 26, told her a week before their daughter Scarlett's first birthday in October 2009 that she just ‘didn't do it for him any more. Those were his words.'

Tina ended her relationship with Nick, 35, who she met earlier this year on the set of Waterloo Road, last month.

And Now can also reveal the real reason behind their split.

‘Tina was deeply unhappy for weeks and felt their relationship was claustrophobic,' adds her pal.

‘Nick didn't like the amount of male attention that Tina got whenever she went out. They had a few arguments about it and Tina just felt that things weren't working.

‘He really fell for Tina and he was just a bit too intense for her - she felt smothered.'
