EastEnders star Steve McFadden was arrested on Wednesday for alleged harassment.

The actor, who plays Phil Mitchell, was taken into custody by officers in Haringey, north London, following an alleged complaint from his ex Dr Rachel Sidwell.

Steve, 51, has since been released on bail.

'On Wednesday November 3 officers from Haringey arrested a 51-year-old man in connection with alleged harassment to cause violence against a female,' a Scotland Yard spokesman tells the BBC.

'He has since been bailed until a date in January.'

Steve and Dr Rachel are parents to Amelie Tinkerbell, 17 months.
