Brendan Cole to miss this week's Strictly Come Dancing after dad's death

Michelle Williams will instead be partnered with professional Ian Waite on Strictly Come Dancing

Brendan Cole performed on Saturday - just hours after his dad died

Brendan Cole has pulled out of this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing after his dad Eddie lost his battle with cancer.

The 34-year-old has flown to Christchurch, New Zealand, to help arrange the funeral.

Brendan's celeb partner - Destiny's Child star Michelle Williams - will now dance with professional Ian Waite on Saturday.

'Our thoughts are with him and his family,' a BBC spokesperson tells The Sun.

Brendan hid his heartbreak as he performed on Saturday's programme, having learned of the passing of Eddie, 69, just hours ealier. 

Tina O'Brien was allowed to miss that live show because she has chicken pox.
