Big Brother's Chantelle Houghton wore Preston's mum's engagement ring

Big Brother's Chantelle Houghton was stunned when Preston popped the question

Ultimate Big Brother housemate Chantelle Houghton still gets tearful when she recalls the way ex-husband Preston proposed to her.

She told Ulrika Jonsson last night that she was overwhelmed with happiness when he popped the question.

‘He said, "Oh, do you want children?" and I said, "Yeah, I'd like to be married before,"' Chantelle recalled.

Chantelle, 27, didn't know that 28-year-old Preston had already got the sparkler to put on her finger.

‘Unbeknown to me he'd asked his mum three weeks before for her engagement ring,' Chantelle revealed.

‘I said yes straight away and then we walked to the bottom of the road and bought a bottle of champagne.



‘You never expect a man to ask you to marry him, I couldn't believe it.' 

After their divorce Chantelle gave the engagement ring back to Preston, because it was a family heirloom, but she still has her wedding ring, which she keeps in her bathroom.
