Kara DioGuardi is leaving American Idol.
The singer-songwriter has been a judge on the hit US show for the past 2 seasons.
'I felt like I won the lottery when I joined American Idol two years ago, but I feel like now is the best time to leave,' says Kara.
'I am very proud to have been associated with American Idol - it has truly been an amazing experience.'
Executive producer Simon Fuller has paid tribute to Kara, 39.
'I will miss having her on the show, but I look forward to working with her in music for many years to come,' he tells People.
The announcement follows the departures of Simon Cowell, 50, and Ellen DeGeneres, 52, from the panel earlier this year.
Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith star Steven Tyler have been tipped as their replacements.
