Chantelle Houghton's stepdad hates seeing her upset in the Big Brother house

Chantelle Houghton has struggled since she returned to Big Brother

The family of Ultimate Big Brother's Chantelle Houghton are worried that her return to the show is too stressful.

The fragile 27-year-old has been sobbing over her failed relationship with ex-husband Preston, who sleeps by her side in the BB house.

‘You just have to sit and watch it and it's pure agony,' says Chantelle's stepdad Dean Pavitt. 'We never in a million years expected her to be getting this upset. But what can we do?'

Chantelle re-entered the Big Brother house two weeks ago on the fourth anniversary of her wedding to former Ordinary Boys singer Preston, 28.

With so many painful memories, she's struggling to come to terms with being under the same roof as her ex.

‘It's been so difficult for her going through all those old feelings again,' Dean tells The Mirror.

‘It's terrible. All you want to do is throw your arms around her and say everything is going to be ok.'

Bookies place Chantelle as second favourite to win UBB behind TV presenter and BB2 winner Brian Dowling.
