Josie Gibson has admitted she thought John James Parton was gay at first.

She was upset by the new Ultimate Big Brother celebrity contestants slagging off John James and questioning the strength of his feelings for her, but understood why Nadia Almada suspected the Aussie hunk was homosexual.

'I thought he was gay, I did,' Josie, 25, told Davina McCall.

Of course, the Bristol babe soon changed her mind and even teased John James about his 'bromance' with JJ.

Ulrika Jonsson - who hopes John James is now giving Josie the loving she deserves - overheard the Portuguese transsexual's comments and told Brian Dowling.

‘The first thing Nadia said to her was: "I don't think he likes you as much as you like him",' Ulrika recalled.

'Then she added: "I think [John James is] gay. I think he's got the whole Madonna boy complex."'

Ulrika, 43, was surprised Josie kept calm after the cruel quips.

‘[Josie] was very good, she just kept smiling,' she told Brian, 'probably while sticking needles in her eye.'

But Josie had had enough and left, falling into John James' arms.
