Hollyoaks launches online spin-off

Show will bring in three new students

Hollyoaks is to launch an online spin-off on E4.com next month.

Hollyoaks: Freshers will introduce three new characters - Kamil (Sikander Malik), Doug (PJ Brennan) and Leanne (Jessica Forrest) - who will then join the main TV series in September.

The new show will be available online in 6 ten-minute episodes.

‘We're introducing a batch of new characters with over 60 minutes of original online drama and social media,' says Channel 4's Jody Smith.

‘[The series will tell] their back stories and journey to Hollyoaks before they arrive on TV.'

Viewers will be able to watch the action unfold at www.e4.com/hollyoaks and keep up to date with each character on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube from 26 August every Thursday and Friday at 7pm.
