Couple vow to remain friends

Sammy Winward and James Sutton are still mates

Sammy Winward has broken up with Emmerdale co-star James Sutton.

The couple got together last year when their characters Katie Sugden and Ryan Lamb started an on-screen relationship.

But Sammy, 24, and James, 27, have now decided to go back to being just friends.

'It's a shame they've split up but they're both being very professional,' a source tells The Sun.

'James has a very big storyline coming up and is focusing on that.'
