Suzanne Shaw was left fearing for her life after a lighting bolt struck the Emmerdale set in Leeds on Tuesday.
The actress was shooting scenes with co-stars Jeff Hordley (Cain Dingle), James Sutton (Ryan Lamb) and James Thornton (John Barton) when the storm hit.
The cast had to run for cover as the spear of electricity blew out the lights and destroyed a tree.
‘Emmerdale has just been struck by lightning!' Suzanne, 28, who plays Eve Jenson, wrote on her Twitter.
‘Seriously - Cain, Ryan, Eve and John nearly killed off! Completely serious about lightning. Not part of a storyline!'
James Thornton, 34, also expressed his shock on the micro-blogging site.
‘Just almost got hit by lightening while filming in the village!' he wrote.
‘It hit a tree 10 feet away! All the lights exploded! We all screamed!'
An Emmerdale spokesperson confirmed to Now Online that lightning did strike the set - it's not an April Fool's joke.
