Matt Damon to star in 30 Rock

Actor in talks for cameo

Matt Damon was nominated for a Best Supporting Oscar for Invictus

Matt Damon is being lined-up to star in hit US show 30 Rock.

The actor is expected to play a love interest for Tina Fey's character Liz Lemon. 

Matt, 39, who will appear towards the end of the current season, has previously talked of wanting to make a cameo appearance in the series.

'I would do [30 Rock] in a heartbeat if they asked me to come on,' he has said.

'[Show creator and star Tina Fey] should call my people - or even better me. Or I could call her. Let's make this happen.' 

James Franco and Jon Hamm have already guested on 30 Rock this series.
