Boy George: I’d be a good X Factor mentor

Singer says he’d be nicer than Simon Cowell

Brit Awards 2010: Boy George
Boy George finds it hard to disappoint people

Boy George is interested in becoming a judge on The X Factor.

But the former Culture Club frontman admits he'd find it hard turning wannabe singers away.

‘There was talk last year about me doing it,' he tells Now Online.

'I thought, "Yeah, it'll be quite interesting to do." But I would find it really hard to disappoint people.

Simon Cowell makes me laugh with the things he says, but I just think some of it's really cruel and I don't know if I'd wanna be a part of that.'

Boy George, 48, says he would spend a lot of time with his contestants.

‘I think I'd be a really good mentor,' he says.

‘I would encourage people to be individual and I would encourage them to sing songs that suited them.'

Boy George's new single Amazing Grace is out now.
