Ewan McGregor almost leapt out of his seat

Ewan McGregor got a fright when he was confronted by a ‘ghost' on a US TV programme.

The actor appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote his new movie The Ghost Writer.

And while he was being asked if he likes to be scared, a man in a white sheet crept up behind him.

The 38-year-old almost jumped out his seat when he saw the ghostly figure. 

Ewan laughed off the prank, joking that he could have had a 'seizure'.

The Scottish-born star also failed to play the bagpipes when challenged by Ellen, 52.
