Robert Pattinson joins Haiti earthquake telethon

Twilight star to present from London

Robert Pattinson plays vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight films

Robert Pattinson is being lined-up to take part in Friday's Haiti earthquake telethon.

George Clooney and Wyclef Jean are organising a global show to raise money for the country after it was left devastated by a tremor measuring 7 on the Richter scale.

Twilight star Robert, 23, is expected to present the acts from London, reports E! Online.

George, 48, will be hosting from LA, while Wyclef, 37, will be in New York.

Acts due to perform include Justin Timberlake, Sting, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift and Christina Aguilera.

Meanwhile, U2 have teamed up with Jay-Z to record a charity single. 

'Bono got a call from a producer, Swizz Beatz,' guitarist The Edge tells Irish radio station 2FM.

'He and Jay-Z wanted to do something for Haiti. So Bono came up with the phrase on the phone and last night we were here, we wrote a song, finished, recorded, and sent it back to them.'

The Hope For Haiti telethon will air in the UK on MTV from 1am on 23 January.
