Corrie and Emmerdale also affected

Filming of Hollyoaks has been disrupted by the heavy snowfall in the UK

Filming on the set of Hollyoaks is proving difficult because of the heavy snowfall in the UK.

The weather conditions mean cast and crew are having difficulty reaching the Lime Pictures studio in Childwall, Liverpool.

Only one of five planned shoots on the Channel 4 show was able to go ahead yesterday.

'We have been badly affected,' a Hollyoaks spokeswoman tells Now Online. 'And today we're shutting down at 12.

'The roads around our studio are like an ice rink and the reason we've cancelled shoots is because of the dangerous roads, our artists and crew can't get in.

'We're not yet sure what will happen tomorrow.'

Filming for Emmerdale was also halted in Leeds.

'Ninety-five per cent of cast members didn't make it in,' a spokesman tells Metro.

Coronation Street suffered similar problems in Manchester.
